the GreenopolisTV Top 10 Eco Green Tips of 2010

1.
Melissa: Does this ever happen to you? You leave the store and you have a bunch of useless plastic bags on your arm? Don't let it happen again. We need reusable tote bags and as many as possible to reuse over and over again. What's great about your tote? The hardest part here is to figure out which one to buy because they're all so great. I think I'm going to buy this- I love this set.

2.
Shopping as much as possible at your local farmer's market. The items that are sold here tend to come from local sources and local farms, thus using less petroleum fossil fuels to get there. So grab your totes and hop on your bikes, and since it's local, you can choose to walk over drive, and enjoy your day out in the sun shopping at your local farmer's market.

3.
So everyone's switching to fluorescent lightbulbs right, well, if you're not, you should! They not only save you money, you have to replace them less often but they save a ton of energy. So when you're switching out your fluorescent bulbs, remember you have to dispose of them correctly, get these from greenhome.boxes, and do your thing to recycle.

4.
I cannot thank you enough for opening up your secret, magical, majestic glass garden for me and for our viewers. I am so inspired by your painting and the way you reuse pieces of trash, but to me they look like treasures. And I am just- I'm a little overwhelmed of the beauty here. We're going to watch how his garden grows.

5.
Think about reusing as much as possible, here's a flashback to see he outfits that I've used, reused, and bought second-hand of the year.

6.
They are using over a hundred and forty thousand tons of recycled content from e-waste into a thousand awarded medals this year, how cool is that? So just think about it, your old television can now be an Olympic medal!

7.
Why don't you think of ways to reuse of your toothbrushes, For examply, they're great for art projects, to clean your jewelry or small spaces around the house, or maybe start buying preserved toothbrushes. These are very great because you send the toothbrush back to the manufacturer to be reused to another brush.

8.
Walk or ride your bus to your destination and enjoy the day not driving. Have fun, be safe, and use less oil.

9.
Have a fling at yoga class or soccer practice or anywhere a large group gathers. Make sure you have your fling with you, collect all the bottles and cans from that day's activity and take them home to be recycled as opposed to leaving them in the trash.

10.
I've got the winning ticket! I can't wait to learn about it and have some fun and hopefully meet Ben and Jerry.

- Melissa: Why do this fair trade, pull a little heartstring if you will...

- Ben: Well, we just became aware that it was an option- that you can buy your ingredients in a way that exploits farmers, small farmers, in the developing world, or you can buy your ingredients in a way that treats them as partners or treats them fairly.

- Melissa: I know you'll be inspiring a lot of companies to keep up the great work. I can't say thank you enough. Thank you.
